radar or ultrasonic technologies, Hycontrols laser based sensors
exploit the unique properties of light to produce precise
and reliable measurements in a variety of industrial applications.
A Hycontrol level monitor contains a laser rangefinder that
continuously monitors and reports the levels of solids and
liquids.

Because laser based sensors provide non contact measurements, they can accurately measure materials from a remote source (up to 250m from the target material). Remote mounting allows the laser sensor to measure level of material under conditions where traditional methods are difficult or impossible: intense heat, caustic or explosive environments, within vacuums or high-pressure vessels. |

Laser
based monitors are a cost-effective solution to challenges in monitoring
and measuring materials. Traditional measurement methods can be
thwarted by adverse conditions or hostile environments. The accuracy
of measurements is not affected by: temperature of material,
varying pressure, angle of repose, process tank obstacles/material
buildup, varying stratified vapor layers, acoustically absorbing
materials, small tank diameters, tall tanks, and materials with
low dielectric constants. Working at the speed of light enables
multiple pulses to be averaged, which results in very accurate readings.
Last-pulse logic allows measurement through fog, steam, snow and
even moderate amounts of dust. Last-pulse logic ignores "false"
returns from obstacles passing between the monitor and the target
material. Hycontrols level monitors can provide singlepoint or continuous
measurements.

The Hycontrol
series of level monitors accurately measures a wide range of materials
within a variety of vessels: bins/tanks, chutes, underground loading
pockets. Regardless of the bin or product geometry, the Hycontrol
series provide continuous, accurate and up-to-date information.
To measure the distance to its target material, the Hycontrol laser
rangefinder needs a direct line of sight to the material. Its narrow
beam divergence allows it to measure through standpipes, sightglasses,
and any narrow passage.
